Kristin Tieche

Filmmaker

Kristin Tieche is an award-winning filmmaker. Her work has aired on National Geographic, CBC, Smithsonian Channel, Science Channel, Al Jazeera America, PBS, and many more. Kristin makes films about wildlife, sustainability and climate change, which inspire action and transform minds. She is known for her award-winning films, including "Forms of Identification” (2011), "The Spinster" (2013) and "Velo Visionaries" (2015-2017). She is currently producing the feature documentary, "The Invisible Mammal,” about the environmental issues facing bats in North America. In addition, Kristin is an adjunct professor at Diablo Valley College teaching beginning and intermediate digital video editing.  Kristin holds a Master of Arts in Television, Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a certificate in Sustainability from City College of San Francisco. 

ABOUT US 

Citizens Environmental Council (CEC), the Burlingame Environmental Club (BEC) and the Nueva Social Impact Filmmaking Club (SIFC) have partnered to create the first student environmental film festival in San Mateo County. The fest is for all 4th-12th grade students who live or attend school in San Mateo County.
